Benefit They're Real Mascara- Review

A Review of this Famous Mascara!

Benefit They're Real

Introduction/About:

If you are reading this, then you've no doubt heard of Benefit's best seller- They're Real Mascara. It's the No1 mascara in the UK, and practically every beauty blogger known to man (or woman!) has done a review of this; so why add my opinion to the mix? I feel that this product has had varying reviews- some hate it, whilst others swear by it, so I'll try to show the good and the bad, so that if you are um-ing and ah-ing about whether to get this, then hopefully this might help!
I'd been wanting this product for a while, yet couldn't justify paying £19.50 for such a controversial mascara- what if I didn't like it? However, I recently got the Benefit 'The Bronze of Champions' set (which is amazing by the way!) and this little beauty came inside!

The Pros:

This does make my eyelashes look MUCH longer, and for someone with fair lashes, length is key for me when finding a great mascara. This mascara has quite a wet formula- which I prefer as I feel that it coats the lashes well and doesn't clump as easily. I also find that its easier to apply when the formula is wet as you don't have to rush to finish before it dries! The bristles are silicone, and the added ones on the end make it easier for corner lashes. (No more mascara on the nose then ;) ) Moreover, I LOVE that it is sold in a mini version and in lots of the little sets that Benefit does; so if, like me you prefer to know you're going to like something before splashing out and buying a £20 mascara, this is perfect!

The Cons:

This mascara is EXTREMELY hard to get off, even for mascara. I personally hate having to take my mascara off at night as it takes ages before it will budge- but this is even harder. So, you're pretty much guaranteed to still wake up with a little mascara over your face with this. However, for me, I feel that as mascara is not exactly a piece of cake to remove, the sacrifice of having to cleanse that little bit longer is well worth it for the amazing lashes this mascara gives me!

My Advice:

If you're the type of person that prefers volume over length, then this might not be for you. There are many people that prefer Benefit's 'Bad Gal Lash' mascara and I would recommend perhaps buying the miniatures of both to see which you prefer before committing to a full size tube. Either way, unless you're dead set on this being your Holy Grail mascara (or you're just rich!) I'd suggest not paying the £19.50 before you know it's what you want.

I hope that helped, please feel free to tell me your favourite mascara, I'd love to know!
:) xx
